Riding Sidesaddle

Enjoy portraiture of spectacular southwestern scenes of beautiful women with horses at the upcoming exhibit entitled “Riding Sidesaddle.” Riding Sidesaddle is a collection of portraits of women with their horses. The portraits are by Durango-based photographer McCarson Jones (pictured below,) and the exhibit opens at Sorrel Sky Gallery in historic downtown Durango on October 4, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

McCarson Jones' photography collection brings a uniquely feminine component to Durango's annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering. Her images feature women who were photographed throughout the southwestern United States. Women are posing with their horses and wearing everything from evening gowns to nothing at all.

The Durango Herald article features this image above plus two other other wonderful preview images from Thursday's Riding Side saddle exhibit opening (http://durangoherald.com/article/20121001/ARTS02/121009951/-1/Arts/Riding-side-saddle--).

Downtown Durango is widely known for its art scene and abundance of fine art galleries, shopping, and restaurants. Book your lodging and make plans to enjoy this exhibit. The week of Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering is a wonderful time to visit Durango and experience all things cowboy...and cowgirl.
