The Knight Sky Coming to Durango

The Knight Sky is the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad's newest open air observation gondola.  It weighs 29,000 pounds, holds 30 people and has taken almost a year to build!

The Knight Sky was built with 20th century technology and will be the first time a car on Durango's narrow gauge tracks will use roller-bearing trucks, the wheel pairs on the railcar. The railcar's consturuction was contracted by Denny and Judy Beggrow of Soaring Tree Top Adventures and D&SNG will operate with 15 seats dedicated to the railroad and the other 15 to Soaring to take customers to the Soaring Treetop Adventures resort.

The Knight Sky will join the railroad's other deluxe and first class railcars, the Legacy and the Legend which take visitors to Soaring Tree Top Adventures. The new car is expected to be on display during D&SNG's Narrow Gauge Day at the depot on May 4.
