Durango in the News!
Two Durango breweries brought home gold medals from the Great American Beer Festival in Denver a few weekends ago. This event is the nation's largest beer festival and hosted 466 breweries and 49,000 attendees. There were about 4,000 beers submitted for medals in 83 categories. Ska Brewing Co.’s Steel Toe Stout won the top award in the sweet stout category, and Durango Brewing Co.’s Durango Dark took gold in the American-style dark lager category. Both breweries have won medals from the beer festival in the past. Ska has won three bronze medals and one silver since 2003, and Durango Brewing has won five golds at the Great American Beer Festival since 2005.
Another newsworthy award goes to a Durango favorite, Soaring Treetop Adventures! Soaring was just voted the #1 Tour for "Things to Do" in the United States on TripAdvisor.com! This is a huge honor for our local zipline. Soaring Treetop Adventures is the largest zipline course in the world and is also rated the #2 Attraction in the U.S. on TripAdvisor under Things to Do. Soaring Treetop Adventures will close for the season on October 18th but be sure to check them out in Durango on your next summer trip!

I especially love those winding staircases along the trees, that is such an interesting idea. I would love to make my children a tree house with stairs like that!
