Feature Friday - Outlaw Tours

This week's Feature Friday post is a feature on a Durango favorite, Outlaw Tours. Outlaw offers rafting trips, jeep and hummer trips, snowmobiling tours and lots of fun other outdoor adventures! Hailey Babcock who does all of Outlaw's sales and marketing has answered our five Feature Friday questions for this week's feature.

1. Outlaw Tours has so many different tours to choose from! What are your most popular trips?

This time of year, our most popular trip would be the Jeep and Hummer tours.  The colors are beautiful in the fall and the scenery is amazing.  We offer many different options for day trips, all of which depend on how much you want to see and how long of tour you would like to take.  Our most popular trips in the spring and summer are the 1/2 day rafting trip down the Animas River and the 3/4 day Hummer tours.  The lower Animas River offers fun for the whole family.  You do not need to have experience to raft this river and it is suitable for all ages. The best way to experience both is through one of our combo tours.   We have also added zip line tours this year which are suited for the more "adventurous clients".

2.  Out of all your offered trips what is your personal favorite?

My personal favorite is the Hummer tour up Animas Forks in Silverton. On this tour you get see old mining districts and abandoned ghost towns.  Plus, the scenery is simply captivating.

3.  With the fall season upon us, what trips do you offer or suggest for a fun and different way to view the changing aspens?

Again, the Hummer and Jeep tours are the way to experience all the beauty there is to see in the Durango area.  ATV tours are alternatives for the client who want to have a little more control of their trip.  We offer many different lengths and options for the tours listed above depending on what you want to see.

4.  What is your favorite way to spend a day in Durango?

I love to be up in the mountains!  There are so many beautiful passes to discover and enjoy in Durango and its surrounding areas. I would then take a stroll down main street and then finish off the day at my favorite BBQ joint "Serious Texas BBQ".  You cant beat that day!

5.  What do you think is Durango's best kept secret?

I love Trimble Hot springs!  Such a relaxing way to end any busy day!

We spent a week in Durango in July, 2010. Outlaw Tours and their fabulous guides made our first Colorado experience the best trip we ever taken. Rafting the Animas was incredible, but spending the next day in Silverton, Animas Forks, and panning for gold in the afternoon was beyond anything we could have imagined. Our guide, Eric, was exceptional at his job. We hope to return next summer, and will certainly book any outings through Outlaw Tours - and we'll be asking for Eric!
