Adventures With Panayoti Kelaidis
No gardening season is complete without its fair share of celebrations, and the Durango Botanical Society is excited to announce theirs. And for good measure, they decided that one party wasn’t good enough – so they planned five! If you interested in gardening, plants, public beautification, or even just a glass of champagne and an entertaining lecture, then check out the Botanical Society’s “Adventures with Panayoti Kelaidis”.
Why Panayoti?
One of Denver Botanic Gardens most ardent spokesmen and horticulturalists is its Director of Outreach, Panayoti Kelaidis. He is the man that introduced Hardy Ice Plants, more diverse Torch Lilies, many Salvias, Penstemons, and scores of other plants to Rocky Mountain horticulture. He has travelled in across the globe in search of plants that might prove durable and responsible introductions to our plant palette. His knowledge of our native flora and its related floras all over the world is deep and wide and he is internationally recognized as an expert in several plant groups. He is also known all over in plant circles as an extremely able and entertaining lecturer and those who have attended his talks will tell you that they were spellbound on the edge of their seats for the duration of the talk.
