Be sure to check out the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown this year! he Meltdown is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of bluegrass music. There will be bluegrass music all over Durango, on stages, in barns, in coffee shops, bars and restaurants! This year the meltdown will be April 8, 9 &10 and will feature three unique main stages, a super jam, barn dance (Durango style), and a Saturday night Celtdown.  The headquarters is located at the historic Strater Hotel where the jamming will go into the wee hours of the morning just as the cowboys and miners would have liked it! Be sure to check this year's awesome Meltdown lineup and check out all your favorites and maybe some new faces! You can purchase your Meltdown tickets on their website along with see all the events and much more about the event!

Other fun upcoming spring events in Durango include the annual Open House event at the Strater Hotel on April 21 where you will get complimentary tours of the hotel, hors d’oeuvres and beverages.  The tours will be followed by Mrs. Camp’s Town Ladies Period Fashion Show, “The World of Victoria and Albert & Beyond”.  Also coming up in May is The 4th annual Durango Wine Experience that will consist of walk-abouts, seminars, wine dinners and a grand tasting.  The events will be held at various downtown Durango restaurants and hotels on May 5 - 7.  For more info on the event and the schedule check out the Durango Wine tasting website.
