Spring in the San Juans
It is officially spring and there is still plenty of snow in the San Juans! Anywhere between 5 and 10 inches fell yesterday in the mountains. Purgatory is reporting 7 inches of new snow with a 59 inch base. If you need a last minute ski or boarding trip start planning today!
Spring in the San Juan Mountains is beautiful! The snow in the mountains is perfect for spring skiers and boarders to enjoy. The warmer spring temperatures make strolling the downtown streets much more enjoyable and you might even feel up to a spring hike! The Winter Cascade Train is still running this spring if you're interested in taking a ride through the beautiful snowy mountains on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Currently the train is running daily with trains leaving at 10 am, 12:05 pm, 1 pm and 3 pm. This schedule is through April 2.
