Four Corners Climb to Conquer Cancer
Start getting those teams together for the Four Corners Climb to Conquer Cancer! The climb will take place June 4, 2011 at Smelter Mountain (Dog Park) at 9:00 a.m. For those who have never participated, the Climb to Conquer Cancer is a non-competitive walk/hike to raise awareness and dollars to fight cancer. Contributions are dedicated to life-saving American Cancer Society research, education, advocacy and patient service programs to defeat this disease.Individuals of all ages are welcome to participate. While some participants will take advantage of this opportunity to run or jog the route, most participants will find it a social and reflective stroll. They will walk and chat and remember. The event will be held rain or shine. The success of Climb to Conquer Cancer depends on you! Individuals who walk and raise pledges are the key to finding a cure for cancer. Organizations or businesses can sponsor their own team of walkers.
Teams: Raise $1,000+ and receive 10 event t-shirts personalized with your team/business logo
Individual: Raise $35+ in donations and receive an event t-shirt.
Following the Climb, participants are encouraged to spend the day at our base camp, Santa Park. The Canines For A Cure will be hosting a multitude of fun events. Agility dogs, K9 Unit for Durango Police, Search and Rescue, Therapy Dogs, Guide Dogs and Dog Trainers from all over the four corners area. There will be an AKC Rally and entertainment for every dog daring to participate in some of our “fun classes” It’s a day of fun family entertainment for a good cause!
Volunteers are also needed to help at the event with registration, traffic, information and many other important functions.
