Don't Miss this Summer!

Durango has so much going on in the summer time and we don't want you to miss any of the great things going on in and around Durango!  Just opening this August in Durango is a cool new zipline adventure!  Full Blast Adventure Center is the perfect way to end your summer with a bang!  You can zipline through the lush Colorado mountains on a Zipline Adventure unlike anything you've ever seen. It's safe, fast, fun and exhilarating! Overlooking the beautiful mountain scenery, you will soar through the air, experiencing the rush and freedom of traveling from platform to platform until you complete all 6 of the zipline rides. For thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike, it’s the perfect adventure! You are going to have a blast at Full Blast Adventure Center! Only 1 mile West of Downtown Durango.

Also, the Dawg Days Chili Cookoff at the Cortez Cultural Center is a fun family friendly event. The cookoff will be August 24 from 11:00am - 3pm.  The Cortez Cultural Center will serve beer, soda, water and milk and will provide the entertainment with music and kids games.  The categories include chili con carne, green chili or salsa. The public can taste for $1 per tasting cup, $5 for 6 cups or $10 for 12 cups.  Participants can also sell their chili as long as they have enough for tasting.  Judging begins at 12:00 noon, people's choice is at 2:45pm and awards will be at 3:00pm.   

Another cool event you should check out is the San Juan Brewfest, if you're over 21 of course! On Saturday, September 11, CookManFood, The United Way of Southwest Colorado and Durango Mountain Resort bring you the 12th annual San Juan Brewfest.  The event is $20 to enter, you receive a collectors edition beer tasting glass and beer tasting from 12 noon to 6 p.m. and there will be plenty of live music and beverages to get you through the day!
