Happy Valentine's Day From Durango, Colorado

Durango, Colorado is an amazing place to spend your Valentine's Day. Weather you're visiting from out of town for a romantic weekend getaway in the mountains or a local enjoying your hometown scenery there is plenty of Valentine's Day fun for all!

For those of you looking for a relaxing Valentine's day weekend there are plenty of beautiful accommodations such as cabins, lodges and resorts for you to escape to. There also are some fun events going on this weekend for those of you who would love to get out on the town and even take a train ride through the mountains. The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad have a special Valentine's day Train Ride called "Romance on the Rails Valentine Train." This ride will be leaving the station at 1:30p.m. and returning at 6:30. This will be special, romantic evening and dinner on a memorable ride through the San Juan Mountains.

Although these are great for those who have a Valentine to spend this evening with, but for those who may not, there are still some fun things you can do this Valentine's weekend! There is a Valentine's Day 5K for anyone who would like to participate. The race is Valentine's Day at 10 a.m. starting at the Durango Community Recreation Center Amphitheater. And for those of you who are feeling a little more adventurous and/or giving, hop on over to Pagosa Springs and March with the Pagosa Penguins! Where from 11am- 2pm feel free to come out and plunge into the icy San Juan for your favorite nonprofit. If that’s a little too crazy for you come support those who do take the plunge!
