In addition to the snow that is already on the ground, the snow in Durango will not be stopping there! After the big dump of snow about a week and a half ago, we have not seen large amounts, but the little flurries have been on and off over the past two weeks.  Currently there is just a light snow, but we are expected to get anywhere from 6-12 inches over the next 2 days.  Then, the forecast for Friday through the weekend is sunny.  You know what that means! Looks like Durango is going to have a beautiful white, sunny Christmas! So if you're looking for something to do while you're in Durango this Christmas season, look no further! Purgatory will be there for all you who are ready to put those skis on! Also, Saturday and Sunday Purgy's will be presenting Badly Bent, playing from 2 - 5 PM.  You could also take a wintery ride on the Winter Cascade Train to enjoy the beautiful snow covered San Juan Mountains.   Or, for those who are really feeling adventurous, try snowmobiling!  Outlaw Tours even offers a snowmobile and train ride combo for those who just can't decide!
