Durango, Colorado Contiunes to Pile on the Snow!

After the first snowstorm of the season the Durango snow has not slowed down! After the 24 inch snowfall over the weekend, Purgatory now has a 43 inch base and is opening more and more runs everyday.  Beginning last Friday, December 11, Purgatory is now open for daily operations.  Purgatory will also be hosting their first ever "Locals Day" on December 20th, for all locals to come out and ski on a discounted lift ticket where a portion of the proceeds to benefit KSUT and Manna Soup Kitchen.

Also new for this year, Buck’s Livery will offer nightly sleigh rides from Purgatory’s base area. Sleighs will depart the base area at 5, 6 and 7 p.m., and each sleigh holds a maximum of six people. Guests can purchase tickets for a 45-minute tour around the mountain or special packages which include a sleigh ride and dinner at Purgy’s or a romantic sleigh ride and fondue for two. Reservations are strongly recommended, you can make these by calling 970-385-2110.
